I began my career in the financial services industry working on the trading desk at Morgan Stanley. In the intervening years, I have been at the forefront of the metamorphosis of the industry. I am currently a member of the Board of Trustees of Charles Schwab’s Mutual Funds and ETFs, and serve on the audit, compliance, and valuation committee, where I liaise with firm management and internal/external auditors to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

In Penn’s book he tells the story of how determination is peppered with his own racial struggles and triumphs, from his elementary and middle school years in Youngstown, Ohio, to his acceptance at Duke University, where he excelled in athletics as one of the university’s standout players, to his tryout for the NFL, to his acceptance into Duke’s Fuqua School of Business, and his eventual 34-year success on Wall Street.
